University of Amsterdam Statistics and Machine Learning PhD Position, Netherlands 2022/2023

About the Scholarship:

The Statistics and Machine Learning PhD Position is available for PhD and International Students in the fields of Machine Learning and Statistics to have the opportunity to pursue their studies at the University of Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Students attending the University of Amsterdam can also benefit from the seminars, workshops and the small-scale, interactive international teaching and research environments.

The University of Amsterdam will offer successful candidates a range of salaries from 2,395euros to 3,061euros gross each month.

Eligibility requirements:

In order to be addmitted for the award, applicants are required to:

  • Have a Master’s degree in research or an MPhil in Econometrics, Mathematics or a similar field;
  • GMAT or GRE scoring of up to five years for those with a master’s degree from a university outside the Netherlands. The minimum score requested is 85%;
  • Evidence of English language skills through a TOEFL test ( minimum score of 100 on the online test and 600 on the paper test or IELTS: minimum score of 7.5, when results have been submitted no later than two years prior to application.

To benefit from this scholarship, candidates must be first admitted to pursue doctoral courses at the university. Then, they can fill out the online application form for this scholarship.

  • A statement of the candidate’s main research goals and aspirations;
  • A Curriculum Vitae;
  • A transcript of marks for the last diploma obtained;
  • A selection of the research work carried out;
  • Two recommendation letters by the supervisor along with current test results: GMAT or GRE, TOEFL or IELTS tests if appropriate.
