Taiwo Ajai-Lycett’s acting career began unexpectedly when she was asked to participate in a rehearsal of Wole Soyinka’s play, “The Lion and the Jewel,” at the Royal Court Theatre in London in December 1966. She became the first editor of Africa Woman Magazine, a publication dedicated to African women in the diaspora.
